David J. Mauer, Managing Partner
After studying a dual curriculum at Yeshiva University earning degrees in both Business Administration and Jewish History, David earned his law degree from New York’s Hofstra University in 2003. He went on to begin his legal career at a Chicago law firm focused on creditor’s rights, particularly consumer matters. In 2013, he launched Mauer Law, P.C., with the goal of helping his clients maximize their receivables in the most reliable and efficient manner possible. David’s office leverages the newest technologies, and offers personalized attention to each client’s unique needs. In 2018, he partnered with Ari R. Madoff and formed Mauer Madoff, LLC.
David serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Creditors Bar Association and is also a member of the National Creditors Bar Association, and he is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
Ari R. Madoff, Managing Partner
A Chicago-area native, Ari graduated cum laude with a B.A., double major in History and Communication from Tulane University. Following a stint as a litigation clerk at a large Chicago-based firm, Ari attended Tulane Law School. After receiving his law degree, Ari worked for a Chicago-based firm that focused on Securities Litigation. In 2008, Ari founded his own practice, Law Offices of Ari R. Madoff, P.C. focusing on commercial litigation, commercial creditor’s rights, employment law and general business litigation.
In joining Mauer & Madoff, Ari brings extensive experience and passion to client advocacy throughout the litigation process. Ari endeavors to advise all clients with clarity regarding pre-litigation options, litigation developments and post-litigation recovery efforts. While Ari is skilled at working towards resolution of matters in order to maximize client recovery and value, he never loses focus of being a zealous advocate for his clients and is not afraid to go the extra distance for clients (including appellate and post-hearing pleadings) to ensure that a client’s maximal rights are preserved. In addition to his litigation work, Ari has frequently assisted business clients with compliance undertakings, contract negotiations and employment matters.
Ari is a licensed member of the Illinois Bar and the General Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. Ari is also an active member of the Illinois State Creditors Bar Association and The Decalogue Society of Lawyers.

Tasha L. Deere
Paralegal
Tasha is a veteran paralegal with over ten years of experience in the consumer collection legal industry. She is an indispensable part of Mauer & Madoff LLC, and is the chief intermediary between the firm and debtors, clients, or vendors. Prior to working at Mauer Law, she was supervising manager of post-judgment litigation for a high-volume creditor’s rights law firm, which allows her to superbly manage all administrative and executive aspects of our busy law practice.
David "Azi" Lifsics

Azi earned his law degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago after earning his degree in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University. Following the bar exam, Azi took a position with a Chicago Alderman as Legislative Counsel. He then joined the private sector honing his skills as a litigator handling Family Law and Criminal Defense matters for 4 years before joining our firm. His courtroom experience is a valuable asset in the litigation-heavy landscape of the consumer collection field.
Vanessa Langston

Vanessa is a legal assistant at Mauer & Madoff. Vanessa assists in handling case-flow oversight, docketing and filing management and firm communications. Prior to joining the Mauer & Madoff, Vanessa worked for 6 years as a legal assistant with Law Offices of Ari R. Madoff, P.C. Prior to her work in the legal field, Vanessa worked for several years in the commercial finance sector. Vanessa’s attention to detail has allowed her to excel in assisting in all aspects of a busy practice.
